Dr. Phillip DiGasbarro

Dr. Phillip DiGasbarro grew up in St. Louis, MO, and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia for both his bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. After practicing veterinary medicine in Blue Springs, MO, St. Louis, MO, and as a relief veterinarian in the Kansas City area, Dr. DiGasbarro was thrilled to take over the reins of Prairie Village Animal Hospital from Dr. Daly in April of 2025. He is excited to continue the legacy of exceptional care for the families in and around Prairie Village.

Dr. DiGasbarro enjoys the many disciplines of veterinary medicine, but his favorite part is the relationship that can be formed between the veterinarian, the pet, and the client when quality care and communication are provided. When he is not in the office, he enjoys exploring nature, tending to his saltwater aquarium, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Colleen, and their young daughter.

While in Florida, Dr. Petro was a relief veterinarian at several local small animal clinics. Dr. Petro’s next adventure was to rural Minnesota, where he continued to practice as a relief veterinarian. Dr. Petro and his family moved to Overland Park in 2019 and joined the staff at Prairie Village Animal Hospital in 2020. Dr. Petro and his wife, Erin, have three daughters, two dogs, and two cats. In his spare time, Dr. Petro enjoys apple picking, cheering on the Yankees and Oklahoma State Football, and exploring small towns with his family.
