Prairie Village Animal Hospital FAQs
How do I schedule an appointment?
All appointments are scheduled by phone. Please call us at (913) 642-7060, and our team will be happy to assist you.
Do you offer same-day appointments for urgent issues?
We do our best to accommodate urgent care cases the same day. If your pet is sick or injured, please call us as early as possible so we can fit you in.
What should I do before my pet’s surgery?
Pets must fast for 12 hours prior to surgery. Drop-off times and additional instructions will be provided when you schedule the procedure.
Do you offer grooming services?
Yes! We have three experienced groomers available Monday through Friday. Grooming appointments must be scheduled in advance by phone.
What types of surgeries do you perform?
We offer a range of soft tissue surgeries, including mass removals, spay/neuter procedures, and more. All surgical patients receive pain management and go home with appropriate medications.
Do you offer dental cleanings and x-rays?
Yes—we perform dental cleanings under anesthesia and use dental x-rays to assess oral health below the gumline. This allows us to identify and treat problems that aren’t visible during a standard exam.
Can I refill my pet’s medications through your clinic?
Yes. Our in-house pharmacy carries most commonly prescribed medications. If we don’t have a specific item in stock, we’ll help source it for you promptly.
Do you see exotic pets or farm animals?
No, our practice focuses exclusively on the care of dogs and cats.
Do you accept pet insurance?
While we do not bill insurance providers directly, we’re happy to provide detailed invoices and medical records to support your reimbursement process.
What should I bring to my pet’s first visit?
Please bring any prior medical records, a list of current medications, and a completed New Client Form if possible. We also welcome any questions or concerns you’d like to discuss.
